Members of the Rotary Club visited the Scottish Borders Brewery at Lanton last Thursday evening. They were received by the owner John Henderson who showed them over the firm's operation explaining all the complicated procedures and effort involved in making and supplying the perfect pint of real ale. Everyone found the visit most interesting and enlightening and thoroughly approved of the sample partaken and also the bottles to take away and enjoy at leisure. Ron Sutherland made a vote of thanks and said how much everyone had enjoyed the visit and wished John all the best in his new venture which would surely put the Borders and this area in particular on the tourist and visitors map. The members later retired to the Buccleuch Hotel for their weekly meal where some matters of business were discussed.
