Weekly meeting with guest speaker

President Scott Elliot welcomed Andrew Farquhar to last week's meeting of the Rotary Club when he explained the forthcoming Hawick Walking Weekend on 5th-7th July which he and his committee had organised.  Now in its fourth year it is going from strength to strength and brings many visitors and much needed trade to the town.  Many are returning visitors from previous walks and, indeed, many return throughout the year as they love walking in the hills around Hawick as they are so accessible and not crowded as in the Lake District and elsewhere.  The event receives Community Council funding as well as support from Scottish Natural Heritage and SESTRAN.  It is recognised as the best value in the UK at
