On this page there is a link to a form where you can indicate which slots you could cover. Each are 2 hours long. Simply enter YES in each slot you can help with, by your name. In total we need to cover about 30 to 40 slots. Unlike Christmas Appeal this is a covered location and could be combned with your family shop!..........................
Do join in and help as the need is real for these 2.3 million refugees from Syria. Rich Wainwright showed us photos of the huge camps at the Peace Forum (see below, this was summer it is now snowing!) and the United Nations have launched an appeal for US$6.5 billion to aid what they describe as "one of the largest refugee exoduses in recent history".
We are told by Katrina and Tim (local representatives of Shelterbox) that:
"There are eight tills at the Co-Op but it is unlikely that all will be open! So we can cover two tills with one person which should be sufficient as they can go from one till to the other as not everyone wants their bags packed for example.
It would be a good idea to have someone near the self checkouts as well with a bucket.
We also need someone on the Shelterbox stand on a couple of slots which will be situated on the right hand side as you exit the Co-Op . This will be set up on the day with the box and a table with information.
Thank you so much to everyone helping on the day. Every penny counts!"
