Vice President Sandy Bannerman chaired last week's meeting of the Rotary Club when he introduced member Mairhi Trickett who spoke on the subject of carers. Mairhi, who is on the Board of the Princess Royal Trust Borders Carer Group outlined the group's role and the care on offer, whether it be a parent, child, sibling, relation or neighbour who take responsibility for others unpaid. She explained the benefits available to the client and how they could be guided towards them. She also explained the different care groups in the system and what they offered.
