President David hands over to President Peter Mehta

Stirling Rotary Meeting 26th. June 2015

President David Paterson welcomed members with the sad news of the funeral arrangements for Evelyn Sim wife of club member Bill Sim. He then started the annual presidential handover meeting by thanking a long list of Rotarians who had made significant contributions to the work of the club, and singled out his wife Christine for the support she had provided during his year. In particular he expressed great satisfaction that the club had been able to assist so many good causes at local, national and international level. A presentation was made to Jim Kerr who was stepping down after 8 years in his role as secretary.
President David then handed over the chain of office to Peter Mehta who in turn passed the Vice Presidential chain to Alan Rankin. Peter thanked David for the excellence of his leadership during his presidential year and in particular for the fact that Stirling Rotary remains a strong, happy club. This was well supported by members.
President Peter revealed that this was a proud moment for him as his grandfather had been president of the Crewe club in 1933/34. He went on to outline his major objectives for the year and in particular the fact that he looked forward to being able to welcome new members to the club in his year, men and women who share the values of Rotary and who wish to contribute something back to our community while making new friends and contacts.
