Carol will be telling us about The Thembalitsha Foundation.
Thembalitsha, is the Xhosa word for "new hope". The charity offers health care, education and training in the informal settlements outside Cape Town where there is more than a 30% rate of HIV and TB and few government services.
Carol is Fundraising & Supporter Relationship Manager to raise awareness of the South African shanty towns where the charity's preschools, clinics and hospices are the only ray of hope.

We raise funds with events like Christmas Collections, Rotary Swimathon, Race Nights, Quiz Evenings, etc. The coronavirus epidemic has curtailed some of our efforts but as restrictions are lifted we are now planning a new programme of activities..
