Wadebridge Rotary Club holds a Limerick Competition
At a recent meeting. Wadebridge Rotarians received a talk by club member, Nick Saunders, on the origins of Limericks and he recited a few for the amusement of members. His talk was followed by a Limerick Competiton, when members were challenged to compose an original limerick which had to include a Cornish place name. The overall winner was Roy Vannoey, with a very topical limerick (produced below). The photograph is of Roy being presented with a bottle of wine, by Tracey Renwick, the president's wife, with Nick Saunders. A sample of other original limericks is also included.
(The 2nd limerick attributed to Paul Brocklebank above was, in fact, submitted by Kevin Smith. My apologies for the error)
