The Royal Standard was this year's venue to celebrate and recognise St George's Day and Shakespeare's birthday.
The meal served up was very appreciated and enjoyed by everyone and the evening. The raffle raised a susbstantial sum for the International Committee Fund.
The guest speaker was retired Soham Village College teacher and local thespian, David Tickner, who gave a very humourous selection of different ways Shakespeare managed to insult those who he was not too impressed with.
Needless to say, David used his audience of Rotarians and guests to "insult" Shakespeare style - even providing a handly book which the audience could use to compile their own Shakespeare insult - a light hearted view of one less well side to Shakespeare.
Well done David.
