President Sandy Bannerman welcomed three visitors to last week's meeting of the Rotary Club. Regular visitor Harald Wilner, Kingston-upon-Thames Rotary Club is always welcome and the others were District Governor Alistair Marquis, Whitburn Rotary Club and his wife Margaret. Margaret is a member of the new-fangled E-club 1100 where members conduct their business on-line. Alistair addressed the club using as his theme this year's Rotary slogan "Light up Rotary" and gave an inspiring and interesting talk on how this could be applied to modern-day Rotary. President Sandy thanked Alistair and Margaret and wished him well in his year of office. The recent Rotary quoiting competition arranged by Tommy Mulvee was held on Denholm Green and was won by Kenny Speirs.
