Our Shelter Box donations

Show related pages

Our donations in the last Rotary year to the end of June have been enough to purchase two Shelter Boxes.

We are delighted that both boxes have been sent to help families in Nepal where there has been severe flooding and devastation since the end of August. One village in the Surkhet district was reached by helpers after a thirteen mile walk. They found some 36 families living under nothing more than plastic sheets. Laxmi Thopa who is the mother of five year old Hikmat said simply 'everything I owned is gone'.

As Rotarians we remain always extremely grateful to everyone who responds to our fund raising events. Without that help we would not be able to help families like Laxmi's. We would also not be able to help people nearer home such as Ysgol Penybryn Special Needs School, Mr X Appeal and the Bonymaen House Residential Home for the Aged.

Thank you very much indeed.
