FLYING HELICOPTER
Born in Coventry and living across the road from the Armstrong Whitworth factory which built Meteor jets, Henley Rotary Club president Barry Prior was interested in flying from an early age.
However, his career in the law kept him busy until his mid-50s, when he decided to take a six-month course in gliding, at the end of which he was persuaded to learn to fly a helicopter. Although the training took him twice as long as it would have done had he been half his age, he became hooked.
Due to the fairly late cancellation of the scheduled speaker, Rotarian Prior stood in at his club
