Mike is the Chairperson of The Galgael Trust based in Govan.
He is also a Trustee of a number of other Third Sector Organisations concerned with developing social capital, human ecology, drug treatment and drug reform,and services for the disabled from 1976/1996.
He held various posts in Strathclyde Regions Social Services working with offenders, children and families, disabled people and voluntary sector.
Community development , between 1995/1999 Mike was local Government Counciliar in East Dunbartonshire and spokesperson for Social affairs at the convention of Local Authority .
