Lunchtime Meeting with Speaker

Multiple Sclerosis Week (from 28th April to 4th May)

Lin and Andy were our speakers for the lunchtime talk on 29th April. Falling in the middle of Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Week, it was very topical.

The MS Society was set up 1953.
Last year, the Society took 12,500 helpline callsand emails.
Until a remedy is found, the Society must concentrate on helping the quality of life for individuals.
The good news is that in 2014, the first positive trial confirmed the possibility of slowing or stopping the progression of MS.

Lin outlined the help and support the branch provides locally to people living with MS including in the RWB area. She also talked about living with MS. Last Sunday, she took part in a skydive to raise funds for her MS Branch. Later in the afternoon, she was chairing the Annual Meeting of the branch. Lin is clearly a busy and very committed lady.

Andy is an Area fundraiser for the MS Society.

Both guests explained about MS and what it means to the patient and the patient's family.
