Della Owen is undertaking a sponsored 300 mile bike ride from London to Paris in September 2015. She is the Executive Assistant to the Director of ICS (International Citizen Service) and she has chosen VSO (Voluntary Service Overseas) as her cause to support.
Rotary Clubs have supported VSO volunteers in the past and Della came along last Monday with her colleague, Chloe Nicholls, to tell us more about the good work of VSO and about the cycle ride in particular.
After a very interesting talk we were pleased to present Della with a donation.
In giving a vote of thanks for the talk, club member Derek Leeming recalled how he had made a similar cycle ride from London to Paris albeit some 50 or so years ago and it was not a challenge to be taken lightly!
Anyone wishing to make a donation should visit Della's Just Giving page athttps://www.justgiving.com/DellaAnnOwen/2 for further information.
