The speaker at the Penrith Rotary Club meeting on Monday was none other than the club President Martin Montgomery. Pulling a rugby world cup jersey over his head Martin went on to describe his role as a North-East volunteer based around Newcastle, at the 2015 international competition. Emerging from a field of 20000 applicants, he was selected to be a driver, transporting key individuals around the area. Driving a new top of the range Land Rover Discovery , Martin became an integral part of this successful tournament. Martin has worn many hats over the years. A former dentist in the town and a good rugby player himself,he is now a leading light in women's cricket at the Penrith club where his daughter Meghan is first team captain of the women's team.
