President Gordon Bulter and District Governor Margaret Taylor

On Wednesday 19th the club had a visit by the District Governor Margaret Taylor from the Rotary Club of Skegness to deliver the Rotary message for 2015 -16.

After the lunch she talked about her recent attendance at the International Assembly in San Diego. This event is the annual training for incoming District Governors and gives them the chance to share ideas for strengthening clubs and improving communities with Rotary leaders from all around the world.

Margaret said that it was an amazing achievement for any organisation to draw so many people together and inspire them to achieve even greater things in their own Rotary year beginning in July 2015.

She brought her “Gift To The World” in a small box and each gift she unveiled carried an inspirational thought to set us on our way, some of which are listed below:

“We can transform the lives of others by putting our many and diverse skills and talents to good use in our wide ranging service projects”

“A future without Polio is a gift that we have promised to the children of the world. We are almost there so let's make it happen this year”

“Make sure your club is fit for current members and is forward thinking”

“By gifting funds and supporting the Rotary Foundation we will be able to improve the lives of others both at home and abroad”

“We have an extra 1440 minutes this year, let's make everyone of them count”

“Above all let's have fun while we are working towards these aims!”
