Over the weekend 7th/8th May 2016, members of The Rotary Club of Twickenham travelled to Berck Sur Mer, France to link up with their contact club, Rotary La Bassée Les Weppes
The two clubs have not met up in recent years so it was a good opportunity to rekindle old friendships and to build new ones.
The French club had prepared a very full programme for the two days and this included a chateau tour, sightseeing in the town of Rue, a guided tour of an historic maritime hospit...al, a scenic train ride around the town of Berck and two excellent restaurant meals on the Saturday and Sunday.
It was a reunion full of entente cordiale and our thanks go to Philippe Richet and everyone involved in the event. Special thanks to Béatrice Briois and Claudine Malaquin who were the principal organisers.
Now that we have met again, arrangements are already in hand for a reciprocal visit when members of the French club will come to England!
