Lunch Business Meeting 30th June

Fri, Jun 30th 2017 at 12:55 pm - 2:10 pm

President Stewart takes the chair.

Stirling Rotary Club meeting Friday, June 30th. 2017

President Stewart Wilson welcomed members to what was his first meeting as President. Crawford Gordon is now Secretary and he was also present in that capacity.  Attention was drawn to the new TV screen provided by the Golden Lion.  Its arrival means that speakers can simply plug in a USB memory stick, containing their presentation and dispense with a projector altogether.

Flowers at Stirling station, for which we are responsible, are looking good and our recent visitors from Dalry Rotary were suitably impressed.  We are fortunate in having a water supply available on the platform, which makes our task much easier and for the organisation and dedication of Faye McPherson.

President Stewart then threw open the meeting to a general discussion about the future of the club and invited suggestions.  Membership is very healthy at around 40 but there is always room for improvement. Various suggestions were put forward and the President took these on board.  His intention is to offer members the chance to put their ideas in writing, for further discussion.  The objective is to improve the Rotary experience for existing members and encourage others to join.

This week’s Speakers Host is Alan Prentice, with Visitors Host Jan Anderson.  More information on Stirling Rotary may be found on our website www.stirling.rotary1010.org .
