Sports Fund Award to Abergavenny FC

Wayne Jeremiah receives Rotary Sports Award cheque from Rotarian Charles Harper

Each year the Rotary Club of Abergavenny offer Sports Fund Awards to local sports clubs, and we are delighted to announce the Overall Winners of the Summer Sports Fund Awards are Abergavenny Women FC.

The Club's aims are to recruit local female players aged 14+ and give them the opportunity to play football as well as developing their skills & fitness with qualified FAW coaches in a safe environment.

To quote Wayne Jeremiah (coach & manager) "Our mission is to give youngsters the opportunity to participate in one of the fastest growing female sports in Wales and to play with a smile on their face. - We aim high and Champions League football in Abergavenny maybe a dream but one which we believe we can achieve in the next 4 years".

Their award of £450 will be used to upgrade training equipment such as new footballs, cones, bibs etc.

Other award winners were Abergavenny Petanque & Abergavenny Cricket Clubs - for their respective support of disabled sport and youth development.
