Young Chef 2017

Local Young Chef Competition

On Saturday 21st January six young excited contestants arrived at Pipers Corner School to compete in the preliminary round of our Local Area of the Young Chef competition sponsored by Amersham, Great Missenden and Chesham Rotary Clubs.

Grateful thanks to Pipers Corner for allowing us to use their facilities.

Adam Whitlock, of Gilbeys , Amersham again praised these young people aged between 12 and 14 years for exceptional standards.

Their exceptional cooking and presentation skills, together  with timing, budgeting and organisational skills show how cooking these days has become and art in itself.

The students came from Pipers corner school , The Misbourne school and Chiltern Hills Academy.

First prize was won by Sally Orr from Pipers ,2nd  Jessica Goddard and 3rd Georgina Garner  both from The Misbourne School.

They will hopefully all go forward to the next round to represent the 3 local clubs to  the District Final on 4th March at North Herts College, Hitchin.

Richard McKeen presented the certificates of participation and George Rivas presented a cookery book to each one.
