President Stewart Wilson opened our AGM with a report on his year in office. The year started badly with the loss of two of our regular fund-raising events, the AM/AM, and Gardening Scotland, but over the year we have added several new fund raising activities. The AM/AM is taking place again on Friday 25th May at Stirling golf club with 20 teams entered, and on 9th June we have a stand at Kippen street fair. Our most successful new event was the Scot's night which attracted a good attendance and raised £1900 for charity. President Stewart thanked Jane Wilson who suggested the event and was largely responsible for carrying it forward. The recent primary school quiz went well, the winner’s Riverside primary from Stirling and Oakbank from Perth now going forward to the final in Aberdeen. Treasurer Edmund Mansion presented the accounts which were approved by the members, as was an increase in the annual membership fee. International convener Martin Ross has just heard that our candidate for the RYLA camp is now unable to attend, and it may be difficult to find a substitute so late in the day. Membership numbers are stable, and we expect to have three new members in the next month or two. We again have a full complement of drivers for the Arion bus, taking handicapped youngsters swimming. The club continues to plant and maintain the
floral displays at Stirling station. The club assembly, laying out our
programme for next year will be an evening meeting on Thursday 24th May.
The next meeting 11th May, Speaker's host, John Rankin, Visitor's host Alan Rankin.
