The eighteenth consecutive Annual Charity Golf Day of Bishop’s Stortford Rotary Club was held in remarkably good weather on Thursday 11th May 2017.   The day proved to be both enjoyable and financially successful. Twenty teams took part in the afternoon’s golf competition, won by loyal supporters of our golf days, Russell Property an independent firm of property specialists serving the Hertfordshire & Essex borders.

After the dinner in the evening, Hugo Richardson of Weldon Beasley conducted the Charity Auction and the Guest Speaker was Simon Lancaster. Simon runs Bespoke, a speechwriting consultancy and he has written speeches for many top politicians and CEOs of well-known companies. His talk was very witty and informative.

The event raised  £9,670 for causes nominated by our Rotary Club President, Geoff Collins who said “We are, once again, as a Club, tremendously grateful to everyone who supported our golf day and made it such an enjoyable and successful day.   Even more importantly, I say thank you on behalf of the many charitable causes which will benefit as a direct result of such generous support.”
