President:

As Pat is away in Devon spending time with her sick brother, Sue took the meeting which she opened by pointing out that concerns had been raised at some members talking while others and guests were speaking.    Sue stressed that informal banter is what helps to make Club meetings so enjoyable and the last thing she wants is to put a damper on that but she asked that everyone shows respect to whoever is speaking.

Youth Opportunities:

Owain has kindly agreed to take on Youth Opportunities again next year but his attention is focused on the Young Chef competition.   Owain has a demanding career and does not have the time to look after anything else and he would welcome more help.     Supporting local young people is a key activity for the Club and if you can spare some time to contribute please make contact with either Owain or Sue.

Paul Hooke-Overy and the Big Cat Sanctuary:

Paul won the Red Letter Day last year and he and Lin visited the Big Cat Sanctuary set in 32 acres at Headcorn Road, Smarden.     Paul thanked the Club for a wonderful trip and stressed that the sanctuary is well worth a visit.
