Peter Roberts was a visiting Rotarian who also happened to be the Treasurer of the local branch of NSPCC which is the chosen charity of next year's President John Clark.  Peter kindly stood in as replacement for the designated speaker who was unable to attend due to last minute work commitments.

Grimsby Centre

The Centre has 20 staff who are engaged in activities throughout the Grimsby region with particular focus on the most deprived areas of the East and West Marsh.  Initiatives such as 'East Marsh United', 'Together for East Marsh' and 'Together for Childhood' give positive influence for younger children. Video Interactive Guidance with playback discussions are intended to help parents form a closer relationship with their children.

Dolly Parton

Peter thanked the Club for its support with the Dolly Parton Imagination Library which is seen as key step to get children interested in reading and expanding their experience through the written word.

Peter was presented with an initial donation of GBP100 from the club which will go towards the GBP25k-40k that the NSPCC raises each year in the Grimsby Area.

Rotarian Michael Carr proposed the vote of thanks.
