Minutes of the Meeting

Held on Thursday, December 12th  2019

                                             At The Golf Club, Chestfield

David Bowley:

            Jean, Andrew and David K. have all met David in the past week and he is        well and in good form and looks forward to seeing everyone at the New           Year breakfast on January 2nd.

Thursday, December 12th, Speaker Auryn Memmott:

            Auryn is a 16 year old scout from 3rd Whitstable  who has been selected to   represent this region at EuroJam, a Europe-wide scout jamboree in to be            held at Gdansk in Poland from July 25th to August 8th.      He is raising    £1,350 to fund his trip and he described some of the things he is doing to      raise money such as producing tie-dyed T-shirts, car washing and a pop-    concert.

Board Meeting:

            There will be a meeting of the Board this evening, December 12th, at Sue’s     house at 26 Joy Lane at 7.30 pm.

Car Parking,  Saturday, December 7th:

            The car parking on Saturday, December 7th was very successful and raised   £455.     Many thanks to everyone who helped.

Christmas Dinner, Saturday, December 7th:

            Everyone had a good evening at the Christmas Dinner at Mucini’s on Saturday, December 7th.     Mucini’s was suggested for a venu for the meal   after ten-pin bowling and this will be discussed at the Board meeting.

Christmas Collection, Sunday, December 8th:

            The Christmas Collection took place on Sunday, December 8th  and      everyone felt that it was the most successful collection yet.    Many thanks       are due Santa and all his elves and drivers.

Packing Christmas Collection Monday, December 9th:

            Especial thanks to Jean and Andrew  for having the sorting and packing of     the Christmas Collection at their house, to everyone who turned up to      help and to David M. who organised the delivery to the recipient charities.

Christmas Decorations at the Whit and Tank, Tuesday, December 10th:

            Thanks to the team which decorated two Christmas trees.

Thursday, January 2nd, New Year Breakfast:

            The menu for the New Year breakfast at the Farmer and Harper in     Whitstable will be a full English breakfast or vegetarian option together    with tea or coffee.   The cost will be £15.00 per person including gratuity.

 

Wednesday, January 22nd Visit to Rotary Radio followed by Dinner with RC    Minster:

            There is a form in the folder so please sign up as we need a good turn out.    Rotary Radio is in the former Criterion Theatre in Blue Town and we will        meet there at 4.00 and, afterwards, will  join RC Minster on Sea for dinner.    

Saturday, January 25th, Car Parking:

            Please sign up; there is a form in the folder.

Friday, February 28th, Ten-pin Bowling and Meal:

            There is a form in the folder so please sign up.      Meet at the Bowling            Alley, Tower Parade, Whitstable, CT5 2BJ at 6.00 pm for 6.30 pm.     A             meal afterwards will probably be at Mucini’s.

Greetings from Other Clubs:

            Greetings were brought from RC Canterbury Sunrise, RC Broadstairs and      RC North Foreland.  

Raffle:

            Paul won a bottle of wine and David K. two packets of mince pies.

Master of Alms:

            December is Tie Month and the ladies were penalised for not wearing ties.
