President Sandy displays his MBE

Meeting Friday 5th June 2019

President Sandy Farquharson welcomed members to what was billed as his handover meeting but in fact he will continue in the Chair for another year. There were no visitors.
 
Sandy thanked the office bearers for their support throughout the past year and announced the members and frequency of Council Meetings for the coming year. He reported on his investiture at Holyrood Palace and the fact that he had had a short conversation with HM the Queen, but, that what was discussed would remain between them. Clearly this had been a memorable occasion for Sandy.
 
He expressed concern that we were failing to grow membership and consulted members on the possibility of a once a month evening meeting. It was agreed to explore this, and other measures aimed at reversing a decline in membership.
 
Our AGM will be moved to 23rd August but there will be no meetings on either 27th December or 3rd January. However, a Christmas lunch has been scheduled for Friday 20th December and should include partners.
