Rotary club of Stirling meeting of 13th March 2020.

President Sandy Farquharson welcomed members to our Friday meeting. The consequences of the Coronavirus pandemic were discussed, and in view of recent developments, it was decided that the club should not meet for the next eight weeks, this to be reviewed towards the end of the two month period. The golf AM/AM due to take place on 15th May will be postponed until later in the year, but the primary school quiz will take place as planned, as will the club barbecue on 4th June. The next council meeting will be on 20th April.

It had been agreed that the club would provide a piano for public use, to be placed in the foyer at Stirling station, and a suitable instrument has been found and awaits tuning. Sandy talked about his plans to alter the club committee structure, to reflect the size and functioning of modern Rotary. In essence there will be a smaller number of office bearers and committees, moving towards a task-based organisation. The concept was accepted by the members present but will require further discussion at club council, before coming back to the club.

During our break President Sandy will keep in touch with the members online.
