C&O Rotary has sold Purple Tulips to raise funds for the End Polio Now campaign (EPN). For every £1/$ raised the Gates Foundation (Microsoft) adds a further £2/$. It costs approx. 50p for a vaccine drop per child.
PURPLE dye is painted on the little finger of the child, once he/she has received the vaccination; hence the emphasis on the colour PURPLE.
'What We Do' Main Pages:
Our main local environment project is the improvement of Tinker Brook woodland. We also have the Purple Garden project, (Purple 4Polio) set in Rhyddings Park. Plus environmental work with our Rotakids clubs. Regular litter-picks.
