Fellowship - President Dean Christy inducts our newest member Yevheniia Shepherd into membership of the Club.


Club President inducts our newest member, Yevheniia Shepherd into membership of the Club. Seen pictured here from left to right are Assistant Secretary Julie Miles - proposer, Yevheniia Shepherd - new member, Dean Christy Club President. Yuvheniia is a retired language teacher and lives in Abergavenny. She is an active member of the Abergavenny Women's Institute and is closely connected with the Abergavenny Ukraine support group which meets regularly in the Community Centre. Yevheniia says she is delighted to become the Rotary Club's newest member. She has been engaged with Rotary over the last couple of years with its activities in support of the Ukrainian refugess who live in Abergavenny, the people of Kharkiv via the Help for Kharkiv Group, and has also helped with the visit from members of Jaroslaw Rotary Club to Abergavenny in August 2022 and the making of the film of the Club's visit to the Polish Club in June 2022, shortly after the invasion.

The Annual Steam Rally returned on 3rd and 4th June 2022 after a break of three years due to lockdown. The Rally is the main source of funds for the Rotary Club to donate to worthy causes via it's Charity the Abergavenny Rotary CIO.
