Enchanted by new Guide Dog, Suebi

Two special visitors joined Club members and guests at our Summer Buffet meeting

Club member and guests gather around as Joint-President Ray Webber presents Geraldine with a donation to Guide Dogs for the Blind.

Geraldine McKeag talked about losing her sight and how her new Guide Dog, Suebi, enables her independence. Suebi stood quietly by her side watching as she talked and at supper sat at her feet; their strong bond obvious and admired by all.

Club Members thank the residents of the town and all those who donated at our Christmas Collections and Golf Day allowing the Club to make donations over the last year to Citizens Advice West Suffolk, The Smoke Alarm Project supporting vulnerable people, the New Mental Health Therapy Garden at West Suffolk Hospital, support to local Ukrainian Refugees, Achieving Aspirations, Kids Out Christmas Toy Box Appeal, Dictionaries for Life, Riverwalk School and The Gatehouse Charity.

The Club also supports local young people and schools with the Service Above Self Awards for Secondary Schools/Colleges, the Rotary Youth Leadership Awards residential week, Dictionaries for Life, and a Public Speaking competition.

Alongside this the Club hosts an annual Swimarathon where local Charities are invited to swim to raise money for good causes, supports Lend with Care and has recently successfully completed its Toilet Twinning Project.
