CHRISTMAS FLOAT PRESENTATION EVENING TO COMMUNITY HELPERS

Fri, Jan 19th 2024 at 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm

VENUE: St Patrick's Club, Earlestown.
The Community Groups that supported us on this year's float were presented with a donation for their respective organisation.

Members of community groups who helped us with our float were presented with donations for the respective organisations plus a hot pot supper and raffle. Seven local groups attended this years presentation evening. The five other groups could not attend.
Len Rainford, our float organiser, presented the cheques and President Craig Roberts thanked all those that had made this year's event succesful.
The following groups attended:
NADOS.
Business for Youth.
Earlestown Cricket Club
Viiaduct Violets.
Wargrave Community Choir.
Ascent College (formerly Wargrave House LEAP college)
Sea Cadets.
Those organisations who helped but did not attend were:
Friends of Lyme Wood.
Newton in Bloom
High Street Hive
Newton and Earlestown Community Group
Newton Boys and Girls Club.
This year we had help from 12 groups and our float visited 14 areas within the clubs catchment area. Additionally we had static collections at Tesco, Earlestown, Kenyon Hall Farm, M and S Gemini and supported the Christmas light switch on at Earlestown and the Newton High Street Christmas market.

Hopefully we have spread some Christmas cheer to all our residents and community and the funds raised will support our local community groups, schools and Rotary International projects that we get involved with. This would not have been possible without the help of the aforementioned community groups, our friends and fellow Rotarians. Truly People of Action!
