YOUTH SPEAKS

Students from Hope Academy win the Senior section of this year's NW Final and go through to the District Grand final at Forest Hills Hotel, Frodsham on 24 March


This year the club will again be participating in the District Youth Speaks Competition.

We have schools competing in two local heats:
St Helens Heat: 31 January at St Cuthberts Catholic High School Sutton (6pm). sponsored by St Helen's Rotary Club.  

Golborne Heat: 5 February at Golborne Academy (5.45pm) sponsored by our own club.

District finals: 11 March at Hope Academy (6pm) sponsoed by our own club.


 UPDATE Hope Academy's Intermediate and Senior teams both won the St Helen's Heat at St Cuthberts on 31 Jan.

The Intermediate's topic was "Stereotypes" and the Senior's topic was "History"

At the Golborne heat, our competing teams came second.

UPDATE ON DISTRICT FINAL:

District Final NW - "The Peter James-Robinson Shield"  District Champion Helsby High School
District Final NW - "The Swati Mukherjee Shield"  District Champion Hope Academy

Congratulations to Hope Academy who now go forward to the final on March 24 at Forest Hills Hotel, Frodsham



The 2024 District 1285 Youth Speaks competition is the District's biggest ever. There are 72 teams from 38 schools sponsored by 25 Rotary Clubs. The competition has three tiers, District Heats, District Finals and Grand Final.
