Members of Rochdale East Rotary Club answered the call from several local area schools towards the end of 2023 and started collecting gently used and/ or new books suitable for age related reading.
Mid February saw the books sorted and graded for distribution to three local schools - St. Cuthberts, Sandbrook and Moorehhouse Acadamies along with Kentmore Acadamy for their upcoming book swap day.
Principals of each establishment were asked to complete a brief questionnaire regarding quality, quantity and suitability of the books provided. The response was extremely positive and when asked if they would like this project to continue, it was a resounding YES PLEASE!
Rotary Rochdale East will now reach out to other Clubs within our district to seek help in expanding this project.
The Rotary Club of Rochdale Eadt meet each Tuesday evening, 6.30pm social for 7pm dinner and business. For further information on our Club, this project or others we sustain please contact RRE Secretary, Frank Hauxwell - frank.hauxwell2@bt.internet.com.
