BUSINESS FOR YOUTH EASTER EGG APPEAL

This year we are supporting this appeal to provide Easter Eggs to all children attending our Newton and Earlestown schools.

President Craig and Rotarian Phil Round visited the Business for Youth headquarters in Sturgess Street, Earlestown to formally present the donation toward the purchase of Easter eggs for the children of local primary schools.

Whilst there a number of people from other organisations were bringing Easter eggs including the Newton and District Veterans, Scotts Deli, Resolution Runners and Cllr Paul Hooton.
This gave us an opportunity to meet with other community groups and partake in a brew and a slice of homemade cake.

The target was to collect 2490 Easter Eggs-one for each pupil and deliver them (with a team of Easter bunnies!) to our local schools.

The target was achieved and with the help from Merseyside Police and the Easter bunnies the eggs were delivered on Friday 22 March.

This coincided with the Spring Fair at Ascent College, Wargrave House which President Craig, Derek Hirst and Jim Collier attended on behalf of the club and they couldn't resist having their photographs taken with the Easter bunnies who were delivering the eggs!

Our club are very pleased to have supported this year's Easter Egg appeal which will bring some cheer to our local children. We also applaud the community spirit shown by those businesses and individuals  who donated and distributed the eggs.
