In Their Own Words… Domestic Abuse Survivor Stories

In Their Own Words… Domestic Abuse Survivor Stories & Self Help from Women’s Aid North East Lincs.

We regularly post stories written by survivors of domestic abuse, women we’ve supported through difficult times and over the years we’ve accumulated dozens of poignant and often heart-wrenching short stories and poems, all written in their own words.

So we decided to collate and publish them in a book.

But this book is more than just a collection of narratives; it’s a tool for healing and empowerment.

Interspersed throughout are self-help exercises and interactive pages, inviting you to reflect on your own experiences too.

From journal prompts to mindfulness exercises, each activity is designed to empower survivors to reclaim their voices and their lives and talk about what matters to them.

And for others, it’s a window into the area of domestic abuse, raising awareness of the issues and the work we do at Women’s Aid NEL, supporting survivors to reclaim their lives and find happiness once again.

The books are available in our charity shops, across Grimsby and Cleethorpes and we would love you to buy a copy and support the work we do.

AVAILABLE NOW in our charity shops across Grimsby and Cleethorpes.

This first edition of our book has been sponsored by our friends & supporters, Geoff & Chris Peterson, to whom we send our sincere thanks, as without our wonderful supporters, we wouldn’t be able to do the work we do, to make a difference for so many women and children locally.

If you would like to be involved in future editions of our book and supporting the production and print,

                                                              please get in touch.
