2012 President's Night

PRESIDENT'S NIGHT 2012

The highlight of any President's year is his President's Night Dinner Dance. As usual the Rotary Club of Houghton-le-Spring make the most of this event and enjoy a night of fun and fellowship, while raising money for a good cause. President Cliff and his lovely wife Karen entertained 131 Rotarians and friends from across the district to a splendid gathering at the Ramside Hotel, Durham. The crowds first mingled in the bar before President Cliff and his top table guests arrived.

The dining hall was soon filled with friendly voices and smiling faces.

After the various toasts bouquets were presented to the District Governor's wife and the President of the Inner Wheel. The President's wife Karen also got a kiss from his niece, Ellen Kerry.

Fund raising and good causes are never far away from a Rotary event and it was time for the raffle. Graham and Len were soon outbidding each other in their claims that they were selling the winning ticket, but despite appearances President Cliff did not need to separate them!

The choosen charity was the Safe Water Trust after the inspiring talk that John Griffith had given on that important subject the week before. We were delighted to have raised
