2013 District Conference at Scarborough

DISTRICT 1030 CONFERENCE 2013 SCARBOROUGH

Four couples represented the Rotary Club of Houghton-le-Spring at the District Conference. President Graham with his wife Carol, Immediate Past President Len with Lynn, and two Past Presidents Ashley with Marjorie and Michael with Linda. Unfortunately Linda was called back home before the event got under way to deal with a family matter. As usual Michael was busy with the camera so most of this album involves 6 people.

The weather  was superb. We were assured by the District Governor that he had ordered it especially and who could doubt it. The subtitle of this event was "Bring Me Sunshine" and some activities such as the fish and chip supper and the sandcastle competition underlined the holiday by the seaside mood. The speakers were a wonderful mix of the inspiring and entertaining. The theme for the Saturday Dinner was the 1920s although only a couple of our party were brave enough to risk their reputations (Guess who!) The photos only relate to the Houghton group.
