A vitally important part of the work of Rotary International is the establishment of Rotary Centers for International Studies in Peace and Conflict resolution.

Rotary Peace Centers exist in six universities throughout the world, including the University of Bradford, here in the UK.  Read more about the programme on the RI website.

The first Rotary Global Peace Forum was held in Berlin between 30 November and 2 December 2012, when more than 1,800 Rotarians, community leaders, and students and alumni of the Rotary Peace Centres programme gathered in Berlin from 30 November to 2 December to promote peace and world understanding.  There is a press release summarising the event; the formal "Peace Without Borders" Declaration; a Personal Reflection and a "Rotary Moment" . They make interesting reading.

2013 Peace Seminar

In RI District 1030, we are so very fortunate to have one of the six Rotary Peace Centres 'right on our doorstep', at Bradford University. Few Rotarians in Europe have such ease in seeing how some of our funds are invested by The Rotary Foundation.

Each year, we have a golden opportunity to meet outgoing Peace Fellows and incoming Peace Scholars from around the world.

In 2013, the 'Meet the Fellows Dinner' is on Friday 25 October at the Midland Hotel and the Peace Seminar is on Saturday 26 October at Bradford University.
