Soundwaves concert a success for End Polio Now Appeal

Success of the soundwaves concert raising a further £833.50 for "End Polio Now"


The Rotary Club and Inner Wheel of Bishop Auckland combined with Soundwaves Community Choir and Bishop Auckland Methodist Church to provide and evening of contemporary music on Friday 4th March that raised £833.50 towards the “End Polio Now Appeal”  appeal.
A total of approxiamately 160 people enjoyed the a Capella style of Soundwaves performance led by Steve McGarvey at Bishop Auckland Methodist Church. The concert was also broadcasted by Bishop Auckland Hospital Radio.
The ladies of Inner Wheel ran a successful raffle during the evening and all of the proceeds will add to the £470 already donated by Rotary Club of Bishop Auckland from their Italian evening held last autumn and the £1150 from the Curry Night held at the Spice lounge in February.
£1000 pounds will be donated to End Polio Now,
£500 has been donated to a charity in Kandy, Sri Lanka providing prosthetic limbs
A donation will be made to “One world futbol” to provide puncture proof footballs for children in developing countries.
