The Rotary Club of Oswestry were represented in the senior competition by District winners Oswestry School


Congratulations to Oswestry School's senior Youth Speaks team who continued their strong performances in Rotary's national public speaking competition for young people with a winning performance at the Regional Competition at Darwen Vale High School, Darwen recently.

  • Best Chair: Fiza Ahmed, Ladybridge High School, Bolton, D1285
  • Best Speaker: Joseph Loughran, St Peter’s Catholic High School, Wigan, D1285
  • Best Vote of Thanks: Finty Royle, St Michael’s Academy, Chorley, D1190

The three sixth formers, Matthew Cooper, Adelina Creciun and Seb Banks, impressed judges and audience alike with their presentation of their topic "Down Syndrome : To be or not to be?" and will advance to the Youth Speaks National Final to be held at Thomas Telford School, Old Park, Telford, TF3 4NW on Sunday, 7th May 2017.
