2017 Purple 4 Polio - End Polio Now

Planting of Crocus Bulbs by Rotary Club of Bishop Auckland teaming up with the pupils of the St Andrews Primary School, members of Bishop Auckland & Coundon in Bloom, Cultivate4life and the Clean and Green Team of DCC

Rotarians were joined by staff and pupils from St Andrews Primary School, members of Bishop Auckland and Coundon in Bloom, Cultivate4life and the Clean and Green Team of Durham County Council on Tuesday 17th October. The combined forces planted 10,000 crocus corms to add to the 5000 planted in 2016 on Rotary Way (Bishop Auckland Bypass) - the route that many of the pupils take to school.

It forms part of the Rotary Club "Purple for Polio" campaign and their contribution to Bishop Auckland and Coundon in Bloom

Each spring, there will be an area of purple crocuses to remind us of the End Polio Now campaign
