President's Evening - 2009

Another evening of fun, frolics and fellowship.


WOW - what a wonderful evening!  There were more than 150 people in the Ramside Hall Ballroom, which must be something of a record - at least in recent times.  And once again, we enjoyed good company, had a decent meal followed by dancing to the great Little Big Band of George Nicklin and, in the band's interval, were treated to a return appearance of Elvis Presley (actually Anthony "Elvis" Grey, son of President David).  The picture above shows President David taking his wife Christine on to the floor for the first dance.
One thing that made this event so memorable was that, in addition to our special guests, the Mayor and Mayoress of Durham and the President of the Caledonian Society and his wife, we were able to welcome so many people from other Rotary Clubs around the region - as you'll see in the photos that follow.
Towards the end of the meal, Derek Hall and the Fund Raising Team ran a raffle which, thanks to the generosity of all concerned, raised the magnificent sum of
