About us

Presidents Welcome:

Hello, I am Trevor Dykes the President of Thornhill and District Rotary Club.

I am delighted to be President for the second time nearly 20 years after the first – especially during such a milestone year as we celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the club.

Thornhill and District are proud to be embedded and involved in our local communities and beyond.  We organise community events and participate in initiatives both home and abroad, we raise funds for local charities such as CRY, Nithsdale Inshore Rescue, Alzheimer Scotland, Maggies and many more and partner with international charities such as Shelter Box and WaterAid, helping to make a global impact.

We are always on the lookout for new Members to enhance our diverse skill set and pride ourselves in our ability to assist in volunteering as well as well-established youth engagement programmes and running  annual events such as Thornhill Bonfire and Fireworks night, the Am-Am Golf and the Burns Supper.

As we look ahead, I’m excited to continue exploring new initiatives and opportunities to grow our reach and deepen our impact. If you’re someone who shares our passion for community service—whether locally or globally—I warmly invite you to visit our website where you will find a welcoming and friendly group.– If you wish to attend a meeting or learn more about what we do please do contact any Member, we meet on a Wednesday night in Thornhill or once a month in Sanquhar.

We look forward to hearing from you.

Trevor
