About us

Our Council, which is our club's ruling body, has conducted meetings using Zoom.It was agreed that our club would £150 to Super Star Arts, a local charity which supports young people and adults with learning difficulties. They are encouraged to join in projects with an artistic flavour to learn skills to improve their quality of life. The gift of £150 provided packs of art work which were delivered to their doors to help keep them entertained during the current safety regulations. Recently. in early 2021, we donated to them £788 to help with various purchases during this difficult period to keep things running.

WE ARE PROUD TO ANNOUNCE THAT DURING THE COVID CRISIS THE CLUB HAS DONATED A TOTAL OF £6000 TO WORTHING FOODBANK TO ENABLE THEM TO REPLENISH THEIR FOOD SUPPLIES WHICH HAD BECOME ALMOST EXHAUSTED.

WE HAVE ALSO PROVIDED £2000 TO WORTHING COMMUNITY CHEST AND OUR CLUB'S APPEAL TO 'FEED A CHILD AT CHRISTMAS' RAISED OVER £5000.

WE HAVE RESPONDED TO THE PANDEMIC WHICH HAS BEEN SWEEPING THROUGH OUR COMMUNITY BY GIVING MONEY TO THOSE MOST IN NEED.

Our club will celebrate its centenary in 2022 and since our founding, members have striven to help alleviate poverty and the wretchedness that so many millions of people have suffered and still suffer in our fractured world.  We also try to help those in need in our local community. We hope to show on this website that involvement with Rotary is also enjoyable with friendly people and lots of social activities.

VERY SADLY THE WORTHING ROTARY CARNIVAL WITH PROCESSION WHICH SHOULD HAVE TAKEN PLACE ON BANK HOLIDAY AUGUST 31ST 2020 HAD TO BE CANCELLED DUE TO THE CORONAVIRUS. WE WERE VERY DISAPPOINTED AND WE HAD HOPED TO HOLD THE EVENT THIS YEAR. UNFORTUNATELY THE UNCERTAINTY ABOUT THE EASING OF COVID RELATED RESTRICTIONS MEANT THAT WE DID NOT HAVE SUFFICIENT TIME TO ORGANISE WHAT IS A SOMEWHAT COMPLICATED EVENT.  WE THINK IT VERY LIKELY THAT THE EVENT WILL TAKE PLACE IN 2022, APPROPRIATELY IN OUR CENTENARY YEAR.

PLEASE NOTE THAT USUALLY OUR CLUB DOES NOT MEET ON THE FIRST MONDAY IN THE MONTH.
