Welcome to the Rotary Club of Hatfield. We're working to benefit local and international communities. With You, we could accomplish more!
Hatfield may be a small town but has a big place in history – not just in Britain but around the world. Founded before the Norman Conquest in 1066, Hatfield has played an important part in Tudor, Victorian, and aviation history.details
At our Club in Hatfield we work in our community, with our youngsters and support international charity work. This said, we also enjoy a great social timedetails
Hatfield Rotary and Our Community
Breaks Manor supports both a Youth Club and “Men In Sheds” for the not-so-young. After 70 years, the main building has needed much refurbishment – we were able to help and provide a generator system to allow youth events after dark in their groundsdetails
Our International Work
Our club is involved in international community projects, sometimes alone, sometimes in partnership with other Rotary clubs, or with other organisationsdetails
We’re for communities
We have about 20 members and are active in our community. We're working to benefit local and international communities. With You, we could accomplish more!
We also enjoy friendship and fellowship. With You, it could be more fun!
Why not join us – or come along and find out more about us.
We raise funds through events and we have a great time and fellowship doing it. COVID has forced us to move to Zoom meetings and virtual fundraising but we still aim to support charities.
When not in lockdown, Together with Welwyn Garden City Rotary Club we have organised Charity Walks every year for 20 years raising funds for our own and our walkers’ local and national charities. Our Father Christmas was at the Aldenham Country Park Frost Fair in November 2019. That was our major fundraiser for last year.
We give our time and are not expected to dig into our own pockets. We raise and spend over £10,000 annually.
Over recent years we have supported, amongst others
- Our local foodbanks, Trussell and Manna, our women’s refuge
- Herts Young Homeless
- Resolve Night-shelter and the associated Sparks Café to provide a local meeting-place for Hatfield.
- Friendship House
- Citizens Advice Welwyn Hatfield
- Council for Voluntary Service (CVS)
- Isabel Hospice in Welwyn Garden City
- Herts Action on Disability (HAD) now Herts Ability
- The Willow Foundation
And many others
We are actively seeking new Members, both male and female and all ages, all walks of life and experience - only a willingness to help is needed. You only need give as much as you are able.
