About us

                                                                ROTARY 2024/2025

                                                     Celebrating 120 years of Rotary!

Rotary has turned 120. Our International President Stephanie Urchick has chosen 'The Magic of Rotary' as her theme, having seen people's reaction, to Rotarians volunteering across the world.

Our network of 1.4 million unpaid volunteers are transforming lives, bringing people together and making a difference.

Rotary throughout the world promotes – Peace, Fighting Disease, Providing Clean Water, Saving Mothers and Children, Supporting Education, Growing Local Economies, Protecting the Environment.

We are delighted to represent Rotary International in Cheltenham. Cheltenham North is an established Club, of 39 members. We are always keen to attract interest about our work in the Community. We are open to both women and men, who wish to devote their spare time to helping those less fortunate and to suatainably improve our local community.

Usually, we meet on the 1st and 3rd Monday evenings in the month, at the Queens Hotel, 6pm for a 6.30pm start.

We operate with an ethos of an enjoyable, warm, welcoming, and fun club.

While principally a volunteering organisation, we raise funds for several causes both at home and overseas. In addition to our international projects, i.e. polio erradication, disaster relief, Shelterbox and School in a Bag; this year we are raising the awareness of Rotary, particularly in the Cheltenham area; so instead of donating to large national charities, we are targeting 'small and local' endeavours.

We will continue to support local organisations and help schools with reading skills and at their regular events.

Our environmental activities over the past years include planting of 150 trees throughout the town and more recently planting purple flowering crocus bulbs, to remind us of the purple marker used in remote areas, to assist the WHO to judge the effectiveness of the polio vaccination programme,

Apart from volunteering and fund raising, the website gives details of our other activities including our club programme and varied social events.

Thank you for reading about us on this page. Further information on our programme can be found within the "Future Events" box towards the top of this page.

If you wish to know more about our Club and its activities this can be obtained through the “Contact" and "What we Do" boxes at the top of this page.
