ROTARY HAS A VISION STATEMENT
LASTING CHANGE – ACROSS THE GLOBE, IN OUR COMMUNITIES, AND IN OURSELVES.
We are delighted to represent Rotary International in Cheltenham. We are an established Club, of 45 members. We are always keen to attract interest about our work in the Community. We are open to both women and men, who wish to devote spare time to helping those less fortunate than ourselves.
Usually we meet on the 1st and 3rd Thursday evening’s in the month, at 6p.m for a 6.30p.m start.
Our venue details can be found on this website.
Our usual "Face to Face" meetings are starting again on 29th July 2021. Details of our meetings can be found under the Future Events area of this website. Guests and visitors are always welcome.
We operate with an ethos of an enjoyable, warm, welcoming and fun club.
Every year we raise funds for great causes both at home and overseas.
In 2020/21 we supported a Cheltenham Charity – Community Connexions. They do a great job in providing transport support to vulnerable people. We are raising money to acquire a specialist vehicle to take patients, who need wheelchair friendly access, to be transported safely to appointments in Cheltenham, Gloucester and other local hospitals.
Community Connexions sourced a vehicle, in January 2021 . It is a Peugeot Expert Independence Automatic, with the necessary wheelchair accessibility.
A grant was gratefully received from the Summerfield Trust, and some funds were raised from a Just giving page. The balance has been raised and donated by the Rotary Club Members.
The transport team at Community Connexions are delighted to receive this addition to their fleet , earlier than expected. And their volunteer drivers are very happy with the ease of loading the passenger and the drivability.
We are also helping a School in Nepal with school bags for their children.
In addition we have planted 100 trees in celebration of one hundred years of Rotary in Cheltenham. We are grateful to the support received from the local Borough Council, Businesses and Organisations, Friends and Rotary Club Members.
In 2021/22 the Charities we are supporting include Sue Ryder, Midlands Air Ambulance,Motor Neurone Disease and Linc.
Apart from fund raising, this website gives details of our other activities including our club programme and varied social events.
Thank you for reading about us on this page. Further information on our programme can be found within the "Future Events" box towards the bottom of this page.
