About us

OWING TO THE COVID 19 OUTBREAK THE CLUB WILL NOT BE MEETING FACE TO FACE FOR THE FORSEEABLE FUTURE. WE DO, HOWEVER, MEET EVERY WEDNESDAY AT 8.00 PM ON ZOOM. IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO JOIN US FOR A MEETING PLEASE CONTACT OUR SECRETARY FOR LOG IN DETAILS.

Rotary International is a service organisation of 1.2 million members who want to improve the lives of people throughout the world. Rotary Clubs help their communities locally with a wide range of projects and internationally by working to eradicate polio (we're almost there), promote world peace, alleviate hunger, reduce poverty and child mortality.

As Rotary is the only voluntary organisation with a seat at the United Nations and a truly apolitical and non-religious approach to all that we do, we can talk to the world's governments and be trusted, respected and encouraged.

"One thing is for certain. The world would not be where it is without Rotary, and it won't get where it needs to go without Rotary." Bill Gates, founder of Microsoft, January 2009

We are a Club of just over 40 members from Currie and Balerno but also from Ratho, Juniper Green and beyond.
We meet every Wednesday evening at the Kingsknowe Golf Club where we enjoy a meal, good speakers and excellent company. We also enjoy a social programme, including outside visits.
We serve the local community by supporting local institutions, local charities and local people. We also provide help and support where it is needed across the world, especially in disaster areas.
We welcome new members, men and women, who look to make a contribution to the local community and to help people in need world-wide.
