About us

At tonight's Rotary Zoom meeting we discussed the Umbrella Walk. We know that this is an important fundraiser for a lot of community groups in the area, but with the current Covid-19 restrictions we are simply unable to hold the walk this Spring.
Last year's walk was held in the Autumn and we are looking at the possibility of doing this again. We are obviously at the behest of Covid-19 and the associated laws that come with it, but if it is possible we would like to hold the walk in the Autumn, with a view to making this a permanent move.
We will keep you updated as and when we know any more.
In the meantime, stay safe everyone.

We are pleased to welcome Glen Cavers as a new member of Langholm Rotary Club.

Glen is a well known young man in the Langholm and surrounding areas.  He has been involved in many 'community' projects since he was little.  He has been heavily involved in Centre Stage Community Theatre, many Burns' Nights as an excellent singer and is a past recipient of the Langholm Rotary Club Young Citizen of the Year Award.

During the Covid-19 pandemic Glen has been part of the small team that has lit up buildings and monuments to celebrate the hard work being done by our fabulous NHS, Key Workers and Rotary End Polio Campaign.

Glen will, undoubtedly, make a fantastic contribution to Rotary (and brings our average age down by a few years!)

The Rotary Club of Langholm

24th October 2020 was World Polio Day. Polio is a disease that Rotary has committed to eradicate, and we are almost there. From over 300,000 cases per year when we started, it is down to the 10s. When a child is immunised their pinky finger is dipped in a purple dye, so we have lit the town hall purple. For those of you who support Langholm Rotary Club, you are helping us fight this terrible disease. Thank you.
