Rotary on the brink of ending polio
The eradication of polio is Rotary’s most significant humanitarian goal.
About us
Sadly, due to Covid we did not undertake our usual activities at the end of 2020. However, we managed to carry them out in November and December 2021 and collected £4,618 which will be distributed to charities. Porthcawl Rotary would like to thank everyone in Porthcawl who donated to our various collections and enabled this magnificent sum to be achieved.
Details of the activities are shown below.

Christmas Tree Festival in All Saints Church, Porthcawl.
More than 40 organisations provided and decorated Christmas Trees.- Rotary Christmas Post within postcode CF36.
Over 3000 cards and letters used our postal system.
- Carolcade.
We took the sleigh around parts of Porthcawl on the evenings of 8th, 9th, 14th, and 16th December and were made very welcome everywhere.
- Street Collections.
The sleigh was in John Street (outside Lloyds bank) on the 11th, 18th and the morning of 24th December.
Thank you again,. Hopefully, we will be carrying out the same activities at the end of this year.......plus any others we may think of!
UKRAINE COLLECTION
A very big thank you is also due to everyone who contributed to our street collections on 4th and 5th March for humanitarian aid for Ukraine. A magnificent sum of £4,750 was collected.
Going back in time slightly, although Covid restricted us in 2020 there was one project which we still managed to undertake and details are shown below:
