Open Evening at The Golf Club

Well the snowdrops may well have disappeared by the time you are reading this, although the daffodils should still be waving their heads in the breeze, but with the weather forecast     talking about more cold weather it will be     interesting to see if we are heading for a repeat of the snow of last year, hopefully not!       

However with Spring approaching here is a date to put in your diary as at 7 pm on       Thursday April 4th you can find out what       Rotary is all about as we are holding an         Informal come and meet us event at Torrington Golf Club where you can have a drink plus a little bite to eat whilst you have a chat with some of our members.

To attend all you have to do is ring Rick Smale on 01805 622419 and Rick will book you in, or you can send an email to                                    secretary@torrington.rotary1175.org saying you are interested in our open evening and  giving your name and phone number so we can get back to you. We would say it’s open to   everyone and just come along but we will need to know approximate numbers for our catering ladies so if you could let us know in advance it would be appreciated, we look forward to    seeing you there.

Torrington Rotary has had a busy year under the leadership of president Charles Inniss. One of our successful fund raising events was our pop up shop next to the Plough, with  everyone from Rotary getting involved. We met both old and new friends and had all kinds of goodies going at knock down prices. There were even two Harrier Jump Jet navigation  contraptions sold, and if you missed them give Rick a call because there are still one or two left!

The good thing to report is that after we gave a sizeable donation to the Air Ambulance we were still left with funds for use within the local area, and all of this because the people of    Torrington were generous both in providing items for us to sell in the shop as well as buying them.
